Cookie Policy
Last Updated: June 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how PT. Bali Web Design ("we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit our website at baliwebdesign.co.id. This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, smartphone, or tablet) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, remember your preferences, and provide information to the website owners about how visitors use their site.
Cookies do not contain personally identifiable information on their own, but they can be linked to personal data we store about you. Cookies are sent back to the originating website on each subsequent visit, or to another website that recognises that cookie. Cookies are useful because they allow a website to recognise a user's device.
There are different types of cookies:
- Session cookies — These are temporary and are deleted from your device when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies — These remain on your device for a set period of time specified in the cookie, or until you delete them manually.
- First-party cookies — These are set by the website you are visiting directly.
- Third-party cookies — These are set by a domain other than the website you are visiting, typically by third-party services embedded in the website such as analytics tools.
2. Cookies We Use
We use a limited set of cookies on our website, categorised below. We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies by default. The following table details each cookie category and the specific cookies within each category.
2.1 Essential Cookies
These cookies are strictly necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as logging in or filling in forms. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of the site may not work as a result. These cookies do not store any personally identifiable information.
| Cookie Name / Category | Purpose | Provider | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
wordpress_logged_in | Indicates when you are logged into the WordPress admin area. Used to authenticate and maintain your login session securely. | PT. Bali Web Design (WordPress) | Session / Until logout |
wordpress_sec | A security cookie used by WordPress to verify and validate admin actions. Helps protect against unauthorised access to the admin dashboard. | PT. Bali Web Design (WordPress) | Session |
PHPSESSID | A standard PHP session cookie that preserves user session state across page requests. Essential for forms, user input, and dynamic content to function correctly. | PT. Bali Web Design (Server) | Session (deleted when browser closes) |
pll_language | Set by the Polylang plugin to remember your selected language preference (Indonesian or English) across pages and visits. Ensures you consistently see content in your chosen language. | PT. Bali Web Design (Polylang) | 1 year |
2.2 Analytics Cookies
These cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of our site. They help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the site. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. If you do not allow these cookies we will not know when you have visited our site and will not be able to monitor its performance.
| Cookie Name / Category | Purpose | Provider | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | The main Google Analytics cookie. Used to distinguish unique users by assigning a randomly generated number as a client identifier. It is included in each page request in a site and used to calculate visitor, session, and campaign data for the site's analytics reports. | Google (Google Analytics 4) | 2 years |
_gid | Used by Google Analytics to distinguish users. Stores and updates a unique value for each page visited. Helps us understand the number of unique daily visitors to our website. | Google (Google Analytics 4) | 24 hours |
_gat | Used by Google Analytics to throttle the request rate — limiting the collection of data on high-traffic sites. This cookie is used to limit the percentage of requests sent to Google's servers. | Google (Google Analytics 4) | 1 minute |
2.3 Preference Cookies
These cookies enable the website to provide enhanced functionality and personalisation based on your preferences and choices. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have added to our pages.
| Cookie Name / Category | Purpose | Provider | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
pll_language | Remembers your language preference (Indonesian / English) so that you do not need to re-select your preferred language each time you visit the website. | PT. Bali Web Design (Polylang) | 1 year |
cookie_consent | Records your cookie consent choices made via the cookie banner on your first visit. Stores whether you have accepted or declined non-essential cookies, ensuring we respect your preferences on subsequent visits without showing the banner repeatedly. | PT. Bali Web Design | 1 year |
2.4 Advertising & Retargeting Cookies
We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies by default. We do not place third-party advertising cookies on our website, meaning we do not track visitors across other websites for the purpose of displaying targeted advertisements. If this changes in the future, this Cookie Policy will be updated accordingly before any such cookies are deployed.
3. Third-Party Cookies
We use a limited number of third-party services that may set cookies on your device. These third parties have their own privacy and cookie policies that govern how they use the data collected through their cookies. We have no control over third-party cookies and are not responsible for the content of any third-party website or for any third-party cookie processing.
3.1 Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC ("Google"), to help us understand how visitors use our website. Google Analytics places several cookies (_ga, _gid, _gat) on your device to collect information including:
- The number of visitors to our website
- Which pages are visited and how often
- How long visitors spend on each page
- Where visitors have come from (e.g., search engines, direct links, referrals)
- General geographic location (country/city level only — not precise location)
- Device type and browser used
We have configured Google Analytics with IP anonymisation enabled, which means the last part of your IP address is masked before being stored. This data is processed by Google in accordance with their own Privacy Policy.
For more information on how Google uses data collected through Google Analytics, please visit: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months by default in our account settings. After this period, the data is automatically deleted.
3.2 No Social Media or Advertising Networks
At this time, we do not embed social media plugins (such as Facebook Like buttons, Twitter/X share buttons, or LinkedIn widgets) that would place third-party tracking cookies on your device by default. We also do not participate in advertising networks such as Google Ads remarketing, Facebook Pixel, or similar services on this website.
Should we integrate any such services in the future, this policy will be updated, and appropriate consent mechanisms will be implemented before activation.
4. Cookie Consent
When you first visit our website, a cookie consent banner will appear at the bottom (or top) of the screen. This banner provides you with clear information about the types of cookies we use and allows you to make an informed choice about which categories of cookies you consent to.
4.1 Essential Cookies — No Consent Required
Essential cookies (such as wordpress_logged_in, wordpress_sec, PHPSESSID, and pll_language for language preference) are exempt from consent requirements under applicable law because they are strictly necessary for the basic functioning of the website. These cookies are always active and cannot be disabled through our consent banner.
4.2 Non-Essential Cookies — Consent Required
For all non-essential cookies, including analytics cookies (Google Analytics), we will only place these cookies on your device after you have given your explicit consent via the cookie banner. Your consent is recorded in the cookie_consent cookie so we do not repeatedly display the consent banner.
4.3 Withdrawing Consent
You may withdraw or change your cookie consent at any time by:
- Clicking the "Cookie Settings" or "Manage Cookies" link in our website footer
- Clearing your cookies and revisiting our website, which will trigger the consent banner again
- Using your browser settings to block cookies (see Section 5 below)
Please note that withdrawing consent for analytics cookies does not affect the lawfulness of any cookie processing that took place before you withdrew consent.
4.4 Legal Basis
Our use of cookies is governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, including Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection (UU PDP) and Government Regulation No. 71 of 2019 on the Implementation of Electronic Systems and Transactions (PP PSTE). We process personal data collected through cookies in compliance with these applicable Indonesian regulations.

Download the add-on here: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
Once installed, this add-on instructs the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js, and gtag.js) to prohibit sending information to Google Analytics about any website you visit.
5.6 Mobile Devices

6. Impact of Disabling Cookies
While you have the right to disable cookies at any time, please be aware that doing so may affect your experience when using our website. The following table outlines the potential impact of disabling each cookie category:

If you choose to block all cookies, you should be aware that our website may not function correctly, particularly features that require a session (such as contact forms) or language switching (Polylang). We recommend allowing at least essential cookies for the best experience on our website.
7. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to the cookies we use, changes to applicable law, or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
When we make material changes to this Cookie Policy, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we may also display a notice on our website or send a notification to users where we have contact details.
We encourage you to periodically review this Cookie Policy to stay informed about how we are protecting your information and what cookies are being used. Your continued use of our website after any changes to this Cookie Policy will constitute your acknowledgement of the modifications.
